Overview
 
Our team is looking for a Asphalt Plant Operator for asphalt/paving crews across Northern Alberta. This is a full-time seasonal position, with potential to be year-round employment.
 
The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of an asphalt plant, ensuring the production of high-quality asphalt for road construction projects. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, from the handling of raw materials to the final output of asphalt.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
·        Operate and monitor all plant equipment, including dryers, burners, conveyors, screens, and mixers.
·        Manage the start-up, shutdown, and batching processes of the asphalt plant.
·        Conduct regular inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Have an understanding and the ability to operate all asphalt plant equipment on a standard asphalt plant.
·        Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to ensure optimal operation.
·        Administrative duties: Employee timesheets, safety reports, ordering materials, scheduling trucks.
·        Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and maintenance activities.
·        Deliver high-quality work that meets or exceeds project specifications and standards.
·        Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Extensive asphalt plant experience, including experience related to leading and supervising a plant crew.
  • Be an exceptional leader with outstanding people management skills.
  • Have a valid driver's license and driver’s abstract according to company policy.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and travel, with crews, as projects and locations may vary throughout the summer.
  • Have excellent organizational capabilities and able to communicate effectively.
  • Possess strong problem solving and time management capabilities.
  • Meet all Safety requirements and policies by leading by example in maintaining a safe work site, during the operation of company vehicles and while running equipment.
  • As this is a safety sensitive position, pre-employment drug screening is in effect.
