Description
Knelsen is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Autobody Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and related fleet assets to support safe and efficient operations.
This position involves hauling a variety of construction equipment to project sites throughout Alberta while ensuring every load is transported safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, repair, and refinish damaged vehicle, truck, trailer, and equipment body components.
- Complete bodywork, including dent repair, panel replacement, sanding, priming, and painting.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for damage and identify required repairs.
- Work with shop personnel and supervisors to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete required repair records, inspection documentation, and work orders accurately.
- Follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Assist with other shop, maintenance, or fleet-related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Previous autobody repair experience; journeyperson certification or apprenticeship experience is an asset.
- Experience working with commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, or fleet assets is an asset.
- Knowledge of welding, painting, refinishing, and general body repair techniques.
- Knowledge of load securement practices.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing repair needs.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
