We supply gravel, asphalt paving, ready-mix concrete, and dependable trucking services to customers in Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Level, Edmonton, and surrounding areas.

Our team is seeking a Full-Time Concrete Quality Control Technician to join our Grande Prairie operation. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who is passionate about quality assurance, concrete materials, and maintaining industry-leading standards.

Responsibilities
• Perform field testing of concrete, including slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight (density).
• Conduct sampling and testing in accordance with CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, and CCIL standards.
• Prepare, cure, and coordinate compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders.
• Perform aggregate testing, including moisture content, gradation (sieve analysis), and percent fracture testing.
• Monitor and verify batching accuracy, including reviewing mix designs and batch records.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Ensure all quality control equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including test reports, calibration records, batch records, and audit documentation.
• Support quality control functions such as mix design submissions and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
• Assist with plant certification requirements, including Concrete Alberta and CCIL audits and compliance activities.
• Support plant operations by troubleshooting concrete mix performance and quality-related issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratories, equipment, and workspaces.
• Travel between plant locations and remote sites to provide quality control support as required.
• Work collaboratively with plant managers, batchers, drivers, and operations teams to ensure consistent quality standards.
• Participate in company safety programs and comply with all regulatory and company safety requirements. • Participate in ongoing training related to concrete materials, aggregate testing, industry standards, and procedures.
• Complete daily hazard assessments.
• Follow all road safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• ACI Level 1 Certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in ready-mix concrete quality control or construction materials testing preferred.
• Strong understanding of concrete materials, mix designs, and production processes.
• Experience performing aggregate testing, including moisture, gradation, and fracture testing.
• Ability to read and interpret CSA specifications and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations in a travel-intensive role.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
