Knelsen is one of the largest construction companies in Northwestern Alberta. 
Through our commitment to excellence in product and service, we supply project management, 
gravel, asphalt paving and ready-mix concrete to the needs of our communities throughout Alberta.

Our Grande Prairie road construction division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead 
municipal and highway road construction projects. This role is ideal for a driven leader with a strong 
background in heavy civil construction.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with estimators to develop project schedules, budgets, and tender pricing. 
• Manage all phases of municipal and highway road construction projects. 
• Support superintendents/foremen in meeting daily goals, timelines, and budgets. 
• Maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams. 
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment. 
• Conduct site inspections to ensure progress, quality, and compliance. 
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. 
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality control, and contract requirements. 
• Maintain accurate project documentation and close-out records. 
• Verify compliance with legislation and company policies. 
• Monitor and measure project performance using established tools and metrics.

Project Manager Requirements and Qualifications:
• A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is 
viewed as an asset; however, candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience will also be 
strongly considered.
• PMP or P. Eng Certifications considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of grading, base, and paving processes. 
• Willingness to travel during construction season. 
• Valid Class 5 licence and insurable on company plan. 
• Strong leadership, coordination, and organizational skills. 
• Experience with Bid2Win is an asset. 
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
