Our team is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk for our Edmonton location.
Accounts Payable Clerk – Seasonal Position
The Accounts Payable Clerk – Seasonal Position is for a temporary contract running from Spring 2025 to Fall 2025 to assist the accounts payable team during the busy construction season; this entry-level position is a great opportunity to gain experience working in a high-volume accounts payable setting.
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely entry of purchase invoices into the accounting system, reconciling vendor account statements, and other accounts payable tasks assigned by the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Three-way matching of purchase invoices to received purchase orders (POs)
- Entering matched invoices into the accounting system
- Working with vendors and the purchasing team to resolved unmatched purchase invoices.
- Electronic filing of purchase invoices per Department guidelines
- Responding to internal and external accounts payable inquiries in a timely manner
- Retrieving WCB clearance letters for subcontractors
- Reconciling vendor statements and take action to resolve any discrepancies.
- Adhering to internal controls and policies
- Other office duties as required.
What We Are Looking For:
- One year accounting education or work experience in a high-volume accounts payable setting
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, Teams, and Word
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including use of VLOOKUP function, creating pivot tables, sorting and filtering data.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality with strong attention to detail.
- Business Central/ Dynamics 365 experience an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform daily tasks and meet performance targets with minimal supervision.
