We supply gravel, asphalt paving, ready-mix concrete, and offer reliable transportation services in trucking throughout Alberta, including Calgary, Red Deer, Cold Lake, Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Level, and Edmonton. 

Who We Are Looking For, and What We Have to Offer: 

Our team is currently seeking a Receptionist/Accounts Receivable Specialist to cover a 18 month maternity leave at our Edmonton, AB location. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience at Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd., contributing to exciting projects and supporting a dynamic team. Here’s what you can expect when working with us:

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Greet visitors professionally 
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, managing emails, and incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries 
  • Processes and monitors daily accounts receivable transactions and reconciliations, including tickets, as well as bills of lading. Prepares monthly statements and conducts audits for concrete and aggregates. 
  • Maintains accounts receivable records, tracks payments, and follows up on outstanding accounts. 
  • Closes the credit card terminal at the end of the day and posting payments first thing the next morning (EFT’s, E-Transfers, Cheque, or Credit Card). 
  • Processes payments made by customers and generates the daily debit/credit card transaction report. 
  • Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) 
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies 
  • Assist with month-end reporting and documentation 
  • Support management and team members with general office tasks 
  • Maintain a clean and tidy office, including coffee station, lunchroom, reception, floors, counters. 
  • Monitor office supplies, place orders, and manage inventory. 
  • Maintain corporate phone and email lists and distribute relevant communications 
  • Support administrative staff with overflow tasks such as data entry, word processing, and research. 
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and maintain positive interactions with customers and coworkers. 

Qualifications: 
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative and/or accounts receivable role 
  • Strong knowledge of invoicing and accounts receivable processes 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Maintains a positive attitude; self-confident and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and customer service abilities 
  • High level of accuracy/confidentiality and attention to detail 

Assets: 
  • Experience in construction, material manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments 
  • Basic accounting or bookkeeping training/certification
